When sending emails with attachments from ServiceM8 you may notice that sometimes these attachments are directly attached to the email being sent, and sometimes they are made available to the recipient as download links. This is due to a limitation imposed to virtually all email servers on the total size of the attachments you are trying to send. With ServiceM8 this total amount is 20mb, which with today’s cameras is very easy to do (with the average photo being 3-5mb).
This means that if you are sending an email from ServiceM8 where the total size of the attachments you are sending is equal to or greater than 20mb, the attachments you are sending will not be directly attached to the email, but will instead be available to be downloaded via a link per attachment.
This is actually a very helpful feature ServiceM8 is providing you! With most email services, you simply would be told you are not able send this email due to the total size of your attachments, and would have to figure out a way to send these attachments by some other means. By sending the email with attachment links, ServiceM8 is taking care of HOW the recipient(s) will get the attachments, and allowing you to effortlessly send the email.
This also means that your recipients may need to be made aware of these attachment links, and you might want to tweak your email templates to reference this.
